Serotta ti max?

Ok any info on these bikes/frames
I have hankered for some ti for a while,I would love a Clarke Kent f16 full sus or a gt lightning or the one I can't spell after a few beers!

But theres a serotta ti max for sale on eBay.
it's stripped bare chemically done so will paint adhere to it again??

I had a quick look in the search feature and found only 1 on here(only looked at first page)

Sooo are these special-uber rare beasts?
And any good compared with the ck or gt's?

Their lovely, and a 'better' frame than the GT or Clark Kent I reckon for sure. The CK is damn impressive, but it didn't work that well and was pretty fragile I think ..probably quite heavy too. And don't they go for a packet, that's if you can find one?

I'd say the Serotta is much more useful, but it's not gonna be cheap -twice the price of a Lightning surely?

That one looks like the steel T-Max to me darker colour to the tube and heavily ovalised at the end as it was made from Columbus Max-OR. Not many quality Ti frames were painted either.

Yes that's the one.
The thread on here I have seen the frame was orange but not totally painted.
Also on this frame the rear drop outs are similar to gt xyaing's ones.
And the serial number starts with TM.
As said this has been stripped so I guess that's why it looks dull it's not been polished yet.

It's not just the dullness that made me think it was steel, it the colour, Ti to me always even when not polished (GT Lightning) has more of a gold colour to it that looks more grey like steel.

Looks steel to me too, from the welds. And aren't they spots of rust on the BB shell pic?
