Some members might not be aware that we have a sponsor on this forum who makes bike parts and also does custom anodising!

viewforum.php?f=76

Many will have seen my Motobecane La Redoute Team replica bike
which I've lovingly restored, the chainset was very badly scratched, so I
removed all the anodising all really polished it up, I also did the rear mech'
pulley cages as they was messy too but I've never liked the 'blingy' thing
on this bike as it was just not seen on the real bikes, so I decided to take
the parts off and send them to Chris to be given a new lease of life.

I've taken a photo of 'before' and I will soon be taking a photo 'after'
when they are returned to me, so keep an eye on this thread.

I've enquired with 'other' anodising firms but they wouldn't do them as they have a minimum of ten items

Excellent - will watch this with interest :) What finish have you decided to go for?
Now that is a good question! erm well erm! It is to be done silver again but I will show Chris the original
finish of the NOS outer chainring and see it can be a similar silver!

Well guys!

The parts are back from Chris at Intrincycle and I can firmly say that the re-anodised parts are well
nice and made them look as good as new I will be sending him a few more parts to be done after Christmas.

Yes polished alloy parts on a retro bikes looks ace but there is a time and place for such 'blingy' parts
and my 'blingy' parts have no place on this machine, so it had to go and god I'm happy with the results.

The outer ring is NOS and was used to get a good colour match and as you can see its bob on.

Now to carefully paint back in the words Stronglight with gloss black model paint.

If anyone does think of sending Chris some parts its best if you can work on the parts yourself
and remove any such scratch's before you send them, this will save time on them being anodised.

Nice to be able to support the business of a fellow forum member too!
Thats how it should be mate and he's done such a good job he will have my custom again
and after the Xmas rush is over I'll be sending him a few other parts that need re-anodising too.

I've stripped off the tired anodising off this Rossin stem and removed all the scratch's ready for Chris to work his magic on.
