selling indian firetrail bits (advise)

Dirt Disciple
Hi hope this is the right place to ask this
basically ive got a 95/96 marin indian firetrail in pieces and was woundering the best way to sell the bits?
on here as a whole/or in pieces, Ebay?
a quick breakdown of what i have
the frame 20.5 with the more desirable thicker rear stays
(very small dent near where the sticker is in front of the crossbar)
have the forks, but quite badly corroded
seat post
handle bars
head set
gear shift levers (full working order, but a few scratches to the display, could polish-out?)
both de-railers
2 wheels good condition and straight (rear has a small dent)
i dont really want to make much out of them, just would rather them go to someone who needs/wants them
ideally local pick-up/meetup and sell as one, any advise welcome

Re: selling indial firetrail bits (advise)

You always get more by splitting it up. The bigger frames seem harder to shift, though.

thanks for the reply
thought the larger frames would be more desirable then a smaller one
ive havnt got a problem selling things seperate, just would have been easeyer to sell as a job-lot
and maybe the other person could make some money out of the iteams
will maybe offer them-up on here and see what happens, not sure if its agains selling rules
but if i do put a part up forsale, can i also put offers on them?
also in in the cardiff area, if that help with anyone localish

Hi mate

It doesn't sound like you are sitting on a gem I'm afraid. The dent diminishes the frame and the wheels, and the corroded forks are a bit of a turn off. It depends what parts are on it whether they will be more valuable separately. I suggest you put it up for a reasonable price as a complete bike, but offer postage, as it will expand your market. I don't think 20.5" is too big, anything bigger you'd certainly struggle. Include pictures, of every little item, and all the scratches, and dent/s etc. You may get someone interested in it, or if the parts are nice, people will ask if you are prepared to sell individual items, if you split. If you do split, be prepared not to sell everything, and you may end up with worthless bits. Just remember you must put a price. You can say that offers would be considered/accepted, but at least everyone knows the top end.

Hi i agree the value wont be a great deal, as said (its not the money) id rather the bits go to someone who needs/wants them
anything sold will just go towards the up-keep of my bike
think i will try and get some picture sorted and put a add on here and see what happens
i appreciate the advise

Arrrgggghhhh, why do these things ALWAYS appear when youve spent up for the month

Ive just acquired an IFT frame, and im after, well everything to build it up as a long term project, i so far have the frame and some nos m737 xt canti's and thats it

I would be interested in cranks and maybe wheels if you do split.

hi and thanks for the interest
looks like i will probably split-up for parts
just a note on the crank: the outer crank is dissmantled (which could go free with the wheels) if its of any use?
and the inner carnk, is still in the frame
if your interested, drop me a Pm if youd like to discuss further thanks
