Santangelo Borga tandem road bike Columbus MAX

Here is my latest project. On my way from the Ukraine as we speak.

I wasn't necessary in the market for a replacement for my current Koga tandem, but after coming across this on Ebay I decided it was time for a change ;)

It comes with all kinds of cool bits and pieces.

The brake assembly appears to be some of the first Formula have ever built, with carbon 4 bolt hubs and matching 2 piece discs. It has some sort of cable actuator that I have so far only been able to find on a Bianchi time trial bike.

The cranks are pantographed with B-space, but I am sure they are just relabeled. Can anyone ID these?

Here is a picture of the disc brake actuator on the Bianchi. Looks identical, the only difference being it is fitted directly to the caliper.

Re:

Finally got some work done on the tandem. The most exciting thing was connecting the brake lever cable to the hydraulic converter. I wasn't sure what to expect seeing as it is 20+ years old and I am still not sure if I did it right, but it moves surprisingly smooth. Unfortunately no movement at the brake caliper though, so I will need to figure out how to bleed the brakes.

Here you can find a short movie of how the converter works: https://lfgss.microco.sm/api/v1/files/a ... 13f69f.mp4
