Rust under seat stays

See photos. Old bike I got for free. Would anyone be overly concerned w/this rust? Rest of bike seems fine, in terms of "rust".

Looks like it's falling apart and it's got pinholes as well, I'd not bother

That's the best I could get. I'm thinking of simply cannibalizing some part and taking it to the scrap metal depot for enough coins to buy a pint of Doppelbock. If you look at my thread about the unknown "Rialto Cypress", it's the same bike.

The Rockhopper's the daily commuter. The '91 Norco Cherokee is the second ride.
