Rubbish parts that command a premium

Plenty of stuff that was crap then, and (as such) is still crap now commands a premium these days

I'll start

Pace RC35s. OK, so when they first came out ALL forks were crap... but by the time they died they were hopelessly outclassed by some half-decent stuff like Judys. Now worth strong money....

You can get a new one for that!

White porcs.
OK a bit controversial because they look awesome, but if ridden they only last 10 minutes. So IMO massively overpriced. Would be a one off £400 bike ride.

thinking about the original question though,

Pauls rear mechs/front mechs

onza brakes, have seen alot crack but people still pay reasonable amount for them

manitou frames, i can understand people want them but buying them knowing they risk buying a cracked frame or one that is likely to crack if ridden alot seems crazy to me unless it's for a wall hanger and if that is the case the price would have to be low as in reality it becomes useless for it's intended purpose.
