I promised myself that I could not take on anymore projects until I have finished the existing ones. That only includes:
a Zaskar, an M2 Stumpy, a Hahanna, a Mercian and a Surly Straggler, all in need of finishing off. Oh and a Giant Codex that I need to actually make a start on, oh and the Raleigh Dynatech...damn I think I have a problem but I feel I am among friends who understand!
So when I see the ad on Gumtree for a "Roy Thane" together with a Giant Oddessy Ladies bike for £80 (Will split), I press the button and I have just brought the Roy Thame home with me.
The guy said he had had it for about 25 years and he had used it as a commuter so he had put flats on it. I asked if he still had the original bars but no such luck. I wondered how the whole 25 years he had not noticed the name "ROY THAME" plastered in large red capital letters on his blue bike! But he was a lovely guy and I gave him the money he was asking and brought it home.
It has clearly had a repaint at some stage and has been horribly re-decaled but is loaded with jewels of the Italian variety. I am deciding what to do with it as we speak but meanwhile here are some photos for your viewing pleasure.
