This has been hanging in my attic for a year or so and is too nice to be hidden away.
A local build evidenced by the shop sticker (Bournemouth) bought from the original owner.
Overall very fine condition, some slight tarnish to chrome and occasional paint chips and rub commensurate with age. No dents, all threads good.
Columbus tubes, according to the sticker. Has internal rear brake route, race number boss under top tube.
Shimano 600 headset fitted.
Asking price will include Rouler magazine celebrating Ron’s career (front cover photo).
Measures : top tube 57cm c-c, seat tube 56cm c-c (58cm c-top of the decorative lug tip), head tube 145mm, 130mm spacing.
For info : Takes 25mm tyres with room, I’d be pretty sure of 28s, but won’t guarantee that as today’s wide rims sometimes balloon 28 tyres up to 30mm or more. I did get a set in though at about 30 measured, but was tight.
£275plus any post. Can be collected in Bournemouth.

I think you should quickly double the asking price before anyone else notices. What price a handbuilt frame of such quality from the likes of Mercian these days?

I know, some builders have current prices around £2k+ for a frame!

Here’s the Rouleur magazine… included at asking price only.

Hi there, yes, 28’s fit fine as long as they’re not on really wide rims (I have some 28s on Hunt rims that come up 30mm, those do fit but are a bit tight).
Too many bikes is the issue for me! And a growing family, two boys needing a range of toys!
Ride a Moots as a best (modern) road bike.
If this doesn’t sell at this price, it may go back in the loft.
