I have all but given up messing around with Synths, I think this is the last of my home studio kit.
Roland SH 201 which is the successor to the SH 101 from the 80s, I did have the SH101 in 1984 and boy was that some kit, probably the best bass synth ever made, Roland never produced anything to recreate this again, they stuck with fat strings like the Jupiter and Juno synths, but they did finally go back to the good old days when analogue strings and the saw sounds of the 80s ruled, they brought out the JP8000 which was not actually follow up, but something in between, then in 2006 came the actual successor, the SH 201 which has the same engine as the V synths, but the 2 oscillators the 201 has are fat, they bring out the best of the JP8000 and enrich the sound with the V synth engine, I held on to this as its a lightweight synth, but full fat analogue, the sound you will never get again, the new Roland's simply don't do it, I bought the best analogue from Roland a couple of years ago, the JD-XA and I couldn't get rid fast enough, it was horrid, lifeless, that's probably why Duran Duran love it, so here it is for sale, Roland SH 201 no box but has original power adapter, it isn't Red and silver as standard, it is simply black and silver to make it retro as much as possible, the skinny grey buttons have been binned for some retro black full sized knobs, its a looker too.
£500 please no offers, its worth every penny and only going up in value.
Forgot to say, these do have software online if you can get it working, but these were only available for 4 years so expect the same as the original 101, mass cult following to come.
