Rocky Mountain Altitude fallen on hard times

Anthony

I think this might be a 96 or 97 Altitude, but I haven't seen one with quite the same dropouts. Shame about the paint. Even bigger shame about the decals. And the fm cable stops. And you'd think he'd say something about the condition of the Judy SL too.

The fork seems to be in an amazing condition. But the frame... what happened to the cable stops for the front mech?

Yes, he has added that now - after I suggested he ought to say something about it.

If the fork is original and in such good condition, it seems a bit strange that the frame has needed to be put through so much unwelcome change during the same time. Just think how much more an Altitude plus Judy SL would be worth if it was still in its original state!

Yeah for me, forks and headset covered the winning bid pretty much...

Hopefully it will one day look something like this again...

I agree with Anthony... how did such a nice set of forks end up with a nail of a frame like that...

Will get the horrible powdercoat shifted (normal paint stripper job?) and get Woodrups to braze on the mech cable mounts and hopefully they can paint it for me...

Very first job will be to establish serial number...

Oh, and look out for a sales thread later today to cover purchase cost!

Oh well at least I got beat by someone who will make a good job of it !
Seems I am not to have an Altitude that's the fith one I have missed in two years ! And for two quid more damnn

Sorry CC... If its any consolation I hit it hard and there was quite a buffer to my top bid...

Bad news was, I only saw it this morning! Great this retrobike lark, never know what's round the corner!

93 or 94 you say... even better! :D

Progress will be glacial but it will make up for the realisation that I can't afford to keep the AMP rear ended Dekerf...
