rockshox indy xc - oil advice

Retro Newbie
Hi
I'm half way through a project bike, and have stripped down these old school forks, and had them resprayed

however, i need to now put them back together
its only a back and forth to work bike, so nothing intense, but i need to build the forks up, and put new oil in

1) where can i get the oil
2) can i use cheaper oil that has a similar viscosity
3) how much oil do i put in?
4) is the oil the first, or the last thing i put in?

i've never done this before, i've found a manual online, but doesn't say anything about the oil

any advice is appreciated
thanks

indys dont have an oil damping system

just grease everything up with fork grease and slap it back together

really? coz oil definately came out of it when i took them apart!
that are Indy XC's so are they any different

if they dont need oil then thats great!

Indy's definately don't use oil. Just elastomers and springs. As said above, it's just grease and go.

Some models of RS bitd did have a small amount of 15 weight oil in them just for lubrication purposes. By small amount I mean about 5ccs in each leg.

Yes you are right, I found a manual and it said I need to put 15cc of5w oil in each slider

so my question is where can I get some 5w oil from and the shock grease
ideally I don't want to spend a fortune on this as I have a shoe string budget

cheers

....5w oil.....

We always used to use 15 weight as it was thicker and would be more likely to stay where it was supposed to than the thinner 5 weight.
