Ridgeback 701lx to 703dx

Not really. Virtually everything short of the chain, chainrings and cassette are original and don't need changing, they built bikes tough back then.

Mine was supplied without a seat or seatpost. It was one of 5 stolen from the warehouse in NW2, recovered 2 years later and sold off cheap in the West End lane Freewheel where I worked.

Nice I did read something about the stolen bikes on another ridgeback thread what are you going to do with yours BTW ?.

So the nice postman turned up with my brakes today :) but no sign of the shifters :( so I thought I'd get on with some polishing :D

Also did the mechs too :)

Got a call from the powder coaters around midday I was over there in a flash :D The finish isn't masterclass level but it is IMO good enough and I'm fairly happy with it I doubt that the colour is spot on either but going by the catalogue scan its not a million miles off.

been on the net and have sourced myself a headset and a set of cranks now just looking for wheels and waiting for the shifters to arrive :D

I've also been in contact with Gil_M about the transfers and as soon as he returns to work we can get the ball rolling on those

Re:

Looks a good colour match I reckon

Had a 701LX frame a while back too, but never got round to building it up after a bad powder coating and karma'd it. Got my 704XT which is the same frame anyway so I wasn't too bothered :D

Lovely riding frames though...

Yay shifters arrived this morning, I couldn't help myself and so assembled the cockpit :)

The RH shifter triggers miss the grip whilst the LH one catches just slightly so I'll have a fettle to sort that out.

More parts have arrived this week namely the headset and chainset :)

The cranks need a polish and I also need to take the forks to a machine shop and have the steerer crown turned down by 0.5mm so I can fit the crown race :? . It's never straight forward is it
