Ride or Build

Re:

I've caught myself getting sucked into that tinkering lark but tinkering can be counter productive and undo things, a bit like our IT department at work  Get it built and ride it, I say! Aside of the weather and the circumstances of everyday life, don't waste valuable riding time on endless tinkering without conclusion. Yes, it's good to build up a bike but it's also great to get it finished for actual riding. Tinker with it for maintenance or upgrades or to tryout different set ups, but do this in order to get it ready for riding again. Also, don't have so many projects that you'll struggle to ever complete. Get out and ride, god damn it! ;)

Re:

I need to build something new (old) before I can ride!
The KHS is retired, needing a refresh.
The Trek is languishing in my Dads ownership and I feel I need to rescue it before it's too far gone.
My modern (2012) Giant XTC 1 just doesn't inspire me to go for a ride, there's something that just doesn't feel right about it, so I need to get some more retro options! :D
