Reluctant sale of this super mid 80s lightweight (10kg / 22lbs) road bike. Frame size 22.5" / 57cm. Top tube 21" / 54cm. Standover height 31" / 81cm.  Frame and forks refinished to a very high standard, complete with full set of original decals. Whole bike rebuilt from the ground up – bearings regreased; all components stripped, cleaned and reassembled.

Full Reynolds 531C (Competition) tube set and Shimano 600EX Groupset. Campag ends too, with chrome at the rear and a chrome chainstay.

All component date marks indicate bike was built in the mid eighties. Looking for £375 ono

12 speeds with front 53/42 and downtube mounted friction levers.

The small flange quick release Shimano hubs are married to Italian Ascenti 700c alloy rims (36/36) with stainless steel double butted spokes. The wheels are shod with nearly new Schwalbe Blizzard tyres.

An Iscaselle vintage saddle sits atop a very nice fluted seatpost - which is free to adjust, as is the Cinelli 1R stem with matching "Campione del Mondo" 66-42 bars.

The Shimano brakes have a quick release feature for easy wheel changes and are operated by Shimano levers. Shimano pedals with leather “Christophe” straps and Shimano 600 pattern toe clips together with braze ons for a bottle cage complete the package!

Revell bikes were produced by Madison Cycles (before they became the huge concern that they are today) and the frames were built for them by some of the most illustrious frame builders of the day - Mercian Cycles and Dave Yates definitely made some although I cannot say for sure who made this one. The bikes were then built up by Madison using only the best components around and sold predominantly through the famous Freewheel catalogue as well as some London bike shops.
