Restoring a Pinarello Treviso

Morning everyone,

I have just purchased a fairly rusty Treviso to restore.

The forks from the pictures look untrustworthy from the rust. I have some Columbus Minimal forks that I will likely use.

With regards to the rust on the outside I will strip it back and then repaint however I am unsure on how to tackle the rust internally to try and neutralise it.

Can anyone recommend something that I could spray into the tubes? Or slosh in there?

If I can stop any internal rust I thought of using framesaver afterwards.

I've used Bilt Hamber Hydrate-80 on mine, inside & out.
Careful around the threads - when it dries, it might be hard to shift.

This included squeezing it into the tubes via the vent holes, but the excess is tricky to get out.

No need for framesaver after that, afaik.

I sprayed Waxoyl up the stays but when the bike sat in the sun it came dribbling out the bottom bracket bearings, presumably flushing the grease out of them at the same time. So I don't recommend that.
