Remove Mavic bottom bracket?

Can you get new bearings for these bottom brackets?
They're a very unusual size - 16mm inner diameter. They don't correspond to any common sealed bearing. MAVIC used to sell spares, but I doubt they have any left. No harm in asking, I suppose.

It was a special size. I investigated and found that it is a normal bearing with the outer diameter ground down by 1mm, it is possible to do this to a stock bearing today if you have access to a centre grinding machine!. I haven't seen a Mavic bb bearing for sale anywhere in the last 10yrs, so I bought random mavic bb's just for the bearings. When they run out I will make a jig to hold some stock bearings and have them ground down.
30 x 16 x 9 metal shield one side and rubber the other side..

I found the Mavic 616RD I used to have on my Dynatech MT4. It needs new bearings as spinning it sounds rough.
So pretty much useless for now.
A quick question - if the BB shell is chamfered - can one fit a different Bb?

It's possible but I don't have any experience of it being a good long term solution, a sealed unit would be best option though, as cup n cone bb's would suffer from from misalignment.

I did manage to fit a Royce in a previous frame which was chamfered and had this very 616 RD - and used without issues - though off side wasn’t able to be screwed in completely - and the downside was that now I know why the Royce was impossible to then remove by me.
I guess once it’s been Mavic’d - it’s Mavic’d for life.

I emailed Mavic customer services regarding availability of spare bearings - and also the chamfer tool ref 652 and 653.
Let’s see what they say. I emailed them two years ago as I required a crown race for the 316 headset - they kindly sent me a brand new complete boxed 316! Lightning seldom strikes twice in one spot but nothing ventured nothing gained - I might be very lucky! let’s see what they say.

If your desperate, I can send you some used bearings that still feel ok.
That’s very kind of you!
I’d very much like that! They should be easy to install with a pin spanner and a rubber mallet.
What price and postage cost were you looking at ?

You don't need a rubber mallet for mavic.

Pm your address and I'll send them by the end of the week.
