Never seen that. I have been working on a two wheel drive design for the last 20 years- almost there too. Feel a little gutted that someone else got there first. Has anyone got any info on it. How the hell does it steer??

2 wheel drive

Funny story about that two wheel drive. I was at the Interbike show in 1990 with Charlie Kelly, and as we were touring about, we came upon this two wheel drive bike. It was mounted off the floor on a stand that raised both wheels off the ground so you could spin the cranks and watch both wheels turn. Well, we walked up to it and after watching other guys give it a spin, Charlie turned the cranks super fast, then hit the front brake HARD, and the front drive cable split open on the spot, disabling the bike and provoking great hoots of laughter all around. Needless to say, we didn't see that rig at the next year's show-a one year flop!

Thats one ugly ProFlex!!!!

I cant picture anyone wanting that silly contraption on their bike. I have a ProFlex and it rides fantastic, why ruin it?

Good Luck Bidders!!

You haven't been doing your homework. 2-wheel drive has been around for a while, just never successful. The problem always lies with the front wheel stopping while the rear wheel is turning, because the ratchet only works one direction.

You can look at the 1990 brochure for the Legacy 2-wheel drive bike on my website here.

They made a bmx using the turner awd system. I remember seeing it in bmx plus in 1996.
Anyone got a turner awd system?

Josh
