Does the photo show the complete kit you get with the brakes or is there something missing.... the parts that allow the straddle cable to hook into the top of the arms could be helpful!

I was thinking the same thing, I want a set of those brakes but how will the straddle wire be fixed in place without the barrels ?

If they aren't included is there another way to make them work?

The brakes do not have the barrels. Howeever, the cable supplied does work without them.

Any cheap cable would provide stronger support.

I don't understand how you would clamp the cable to the arm without the barrel. The barrel integrated into one end of the cable might work, in an ugly sort of way, but the bare end could only be used if you fixed a stop to it or some other horrible hack.
