Reducer shim for Pace RC36 to 1in steerer

Calling Justbackdated (or anyone else with that level of Pace knowledge)!

I want to put the Pace fork (front) on the Dave Quinn bike (back).

I've got a Pace RC36 evo fork with a 1-1/8in steerer, and I've got an old Dave Quinn with a 1in headset. I also have an old Marzocchi steel 1in steerer that fits the Dave Quinn, and I want to put the Pace on it.

So basically, I need a reducer shim, and the one I have from the horrid RST fork in the photo is too fat for the Pace crown.

Anyone know where I can get one that fits? I really want that Pace fork on the Quinny, they'd be perfect together...

Although I would go for a specific Pace steerer as I am not sure the Marz one will be compatible-got those in stock too

OK then, how do I go about buying these off you? Do you have a website?

I think I'll start by just experimenting with the shim, and if that fails then I'll definitely get the Pace 1" steerer off you as well afterwards.

I'm very excited about giving my old Pace fork a new lease of life!

If the marz steerer is the same diameter all the way down (including the bit that sits in the crown) then physically at least it should be compatable.

I wouldnt like to comment for sure as I am not sure how the marz steerer material will like being shimmed...shouldnt be a problem...but I wouldnt offer a 100% guarantee that it wouldnt fatigue odly.

Most other fork people I have come across use a steerer with a bulge at the base which opens out to the suitable diameter to fit a crown race with an interference fit. Pace use a shim to create this fit between the crown race and the steerer.

You also 100% need a circlip or flange at the base of the steerer to stop it pulling through the crown-especially with ahead style systems.
