RED Z-MAX WCS tyres

hello all.

HELP HELP HELP HELP!!!

I have been trying to get my hands on a pair of these for quite a while. They are for a project to recreate my disabled brothers P7 exactly how he had it in the mid nineties.

Ideally I would like to get some NOS 2.1's (i can hear you chuckle!!) and money is (almost) no object!

I thought I had secured a pair in ebay...but got this below email a few hours ago...

Thank you very much for your purchase and payment of the two Ritchey tyres. We have just gone to pick and pack them and to our horror they are not in the warehouse. We cannot at this stage work out what has happened because our stock list shows we have this one last pair, as it was the last pair on the stock list we did a physical check before listing last week, so they were there then. Missing stock in our warehouse its practically unheard of so we really do not know what has happened. I realise how upsetting this must be for you but we really have no idea what has happened to them.
I realise how different these are to anything else we have, so I really do not know what to do other than refund you, so so sorry.
If you want us to send any of the other three diff Ritchey tyres we had listed then the boss says you can have ANY pair for £50 incl FREE P&P. I realise this is no real compensation but we really do not know what else to do.
We are so sorry, we really respect our customers and never list any items that we do not have a physical check before we list.
Please let me know if you want a full refund of £107.99 or £57.99 and a pair of other Ritchey tyres.
I addition to this if you want anything else from our Buy It Now items we will give you 25% off our selling price that's now or anytime in the next 12 months.
Again please please accept our apologies.

(yes...£102 for the NOS pair!!!!)

As you can imagine I'm hugely annoyed and have emailed them back and am still hoping they locate them over the next day or so...but realistically they've gone walkies...

So I'm back to square one...NOS or very light use condition...and if thats not available i'll take the best examples i can find.

Can't help I'm afraid, but they do turn up now and again, so just keep your eyes peeled. I wondered who'd paid such a princely price for the NOS one's. _

just like to add that I'd never pay that for 'myself' because although i'm nostalgic about the red Z-Max i had till 1999, and they look cool i did move on to better tyres...and i've been working for myself for the last 2-3 years and never have 'silly' money to splash out on stuff...I was buying them on behalf of my disabled brother who told me what to bid...he REALLY wants Z-max to recreate how he had his black P7 built up in mid ninties... and since he can't use the computer himself i'm his 'remote control' internet bike part hunter! (i think over a hundred for a pair of tyres is madness!) it's a thankless task as he is SOOOO difficult to please...everything has to be fu*king NOS!!! ...sorry...some of my stresses popped out for a second there...
