SOLD PENDING PAYMENT

I bought these off this forum a week or so back as they were cheap as chips! I've not got anything to build them on at the moment, so they're back up for sale.

Now, I know that I could be dishonest and sell these for what they're worth (which, incidentally, is about twice what I paid for them). However I'm not a dishonest person, so I'm selling them for the same as what I paid for them (plus a bit extra to cover postage).

One more thing to note - these wheels are not for weight-weenies!

Front Wheel
Red Hope Fatso (don't see many of these for sale), 32 hole, radially laced to Sun BMF (Big Mammoth Fat) Rim.

Rear Wheel
Red Hope Ti Glide, 32 hole, laced to Sun BMF Rim.

Both hubs are in superb (and I mean superb) condition. The anodising is perfect and I can't see a mark on them. More importantly there are no cracks. All bearings are still lovely and smooth.

Rims are slightly worn, but they're also about as thick as armour plating, so there's absolutely loads of life left in them. I'd even go so far as to say that these will last as long as an unworn set of lightweight rims, easily ;)

I bought these wheels for £85 posted (wheels were £75, postage was £10).

Asking £100 posted. I just want to get my money back (and put a few quid into the Manitou FS Fund ;) ) and I'm sure you'll agree that it's still an absolute bargain.

Thanks :)

I think the fact that they were for sale for just £85 a couple of weeks ago might be a minor stumbling block.

Honestly. This site is ridiculous sometimes. I can understand it if I'd doubled the price and wildly overestimated their value, but come on...

- Is my price unfair? No (especially as there's a set of non matching hubs for sale just below these ones, for £25.00 more)
- Have I been dishonest or hidden anything? No - in fact I've been a lot more open than a lot more members would have been
- Is it my fault that the original seller was selling them too cheap? No

If people want to have such an issue about me selling the wheels for £15.00 more than I bought them for (and, incidentally about £50.00 LESS than they're worth), then that's fine.

However, if someone wants to buy a quality set of Hope wheels from a seller who has given away more than his fair share of karma, and has received lots of good feedback from previous buyers then please, go ahead.

I've been completely open and honest about where these wheels came from, and how much I paid for them. If people choose to have a problem with it, then so be it.

Cheers

I bet you if I bought a bloody Ferrari for a fiver from this site, then people will have a problem with me selling it for a tenner...

Sometimes people just need to look at the bigger picture. Forget how much somebody may or may not have paid for something and look at the price they're selling something for.

If their selling price is fair (or in this case more than fair) then happy days.

Oh, I forgot to mention that I've also pm'd the person who sold them to me, offering them back to him for the same price as I bought them for.

I'm not really sure how I can be much fairer to be honest.

Edit - he's now come back to me to say that he doesn't want to buy them back, and has wished me good luck with the sale..

So, he's happy, the wheels are cheap... The problem is?

Sorry for the mini-rant. This site just really pisses me off sometimes.

No love for these wheels then? :(

Not even for £100?!

^^This is a question...

I answered it.

Nice rant though.

FWIW, I'm selling some wheels similar to these for £125. Go figure.

I'm sorry to go off on one

It just annoys me a little bit sometimes that some people (I'm not saying you or anyone else who has commented, but the comments just re-ignited my frustration) will refuse to buy something just because the seller is making a little bit of money out of it!

I think your wheels were the ones I quoted?
