rattley xtr v brakes

just bought a rear xtr v brake off ebay, meant to be in 'good used condition' but when i've fit them to the bike there is so much play on the pad, the pivots seem very loose. I have other old brakes with a little play but nothing compared to these. is there anything i can do to tighten them or replace the bearings in the pivots?? or should i harrass the bloke for some money back cos i think they might fall apart on my first ride!!

any help would be great!!

I think Shimano did a washer kit for Vs - sounds like that's what you need. Try your LBS first - mine gave me a set for nowt.

just tie a thin cable tie around the linkage to stop the rattle. will stop them squeaking too....

can you get the linkages apart then?? if so ill just machine up some new parts and fit them in?

the washers were more like e-clips. oh hang on just use e clips!



now where are my xt v's?
