I bought this one as the rear dropouts and wishbone look to be exactly the same as the X-Lite branded frame of the same era so I was pretty sure it wasn't "just" a Torus (not that there is anything wrong with them).
It arrived today and is very nice indeed.
The X-Lite advert in my June '96 edition of MTB Pro claims Reynolds created the wishbone and tapered and swaged chainstays. It also claims that it is "Made in England", which I'm not sure is quite true as it later states "Hand Finished and Detailed in our UK Factory" which sounds more likely to me. The 1997 brochure shows a 3/2.5 decal on the frame as well.
I'm trying to find out a bit more info on the frame spec and likely history but no joy with my www. searches so far. If anyone can ahed any more light I'd be grateful. The X-Lite info I can find is from 1996/7 but this frame seems to be earlier to me (I'd guess 1994/5) based on the mainly M900 kit and (original) skinny, but aheadset, rigid forks.
Thanks in advance.
