Raleigh special division alu project?

Hi all
I've come across a Raleigh special division blue alu framed bike. Complete with suspenson forks, SRAM x7 parts and grip shifts. Not too sure of the age, I'm guessing mid 90s? I already have a Raleigh/x-lite ti so is it worth buying this alu bike as a retro project? Has anyone else restored one of these? Were they a rare beast or are they fairly common? Any info appreciated

How long ago were these made?

1997-2000 only. The frame was built to our design by A-Pro of Taiwan. A frame maker used by a lot of top end "niche" brands.
