Raleigh Gran Sport Actually Built see P.23

Re: Raleigh Gran Sport change of direction.

Was that really the best part of two hours? I've use a minuscule amount of paint. You have to put it on so thin so that the light reflects through it or it looks darker than expected. Not always successful at this so some bits need to be done again, especially the larger damage asI was going too thick. Really tricky. Never going to look good IMHO.

Off to the shed to clean some bits while it dries.

Any pictures?
Or are you re-considering a respray? Perhaps The Donald would match or use the paint recipe you now have?

Re: Raleigh Gran Sport change of direction.

Just had another go at it. Those two were definitely witches. Paint is exactly as they said it would be. A b***ard to apply and get a match.

Re:

And in the shed is now a pile of trinkets and baubles that will distract. Temporary Mavic/Maillard wheels have been cleaned, stripped and greased. Brand new 14-26 block fitted. Lovely.

Get the shiny stuff on and no one will notice!

Re: Raleigh Gran Sport change of direction.

That's the plan. Will have another go at the chainstay.

Re: Raleigh Gran Sport change of direction.

Good job worth doing, looking forward to the finished bike.
Me & Jim are missing out on some serious workshop/sunny ride time, stuck on a bloody spa weekend “relaxing”! Just spotted some MTBs to hire, so maybe all is not lost!

Re: Raleigh Gran Sport change of direction.
