Raleigh bike model? Year?

Does anyone know what model raleigh this is? What year it might be? And what it would be worth as it is? Thanks

I suppose asking the model year of the bike along with the "PRICE" is a Guaranteed way to get a response by the looks of it.

Starting to become a bit of a habit though.

these were also £199 when first came to market, and as above the price is right. Personally though you would have to pay me to take the old Iron away.
 
It has some kind of suspension forks on the front I think, what are these types of forks called? Are they any good? easy to service? Thanks

To be frank, No ........they werent any good when out of the box Brand new.

They cannot be serviced, and cannot be called suspension forks, as they didn't suspend, even when new.

i had one of these when i was a kid and the forks didn't do anything from new so id hate to imagine what they are like now. the weight is also ridiculous, comparable to a small planet. :)
 
Would suggest as you seem to have a thing for old Raleigh's you get on ebay and search for Raleigh and Reynolds in the description, you should be able to find one of the 531 lightweights, these are decent old skool cool bikes and ride really nicely, they never make a lot of money either and come in at less than £100 even for the top models.
