Raleigh 531c Competition

Hi all,

I've decided to sell my "barn find" Raleigh 531c Competition with chromed Gipiemme drop-outs - it is a 1983 model in good overall condition for year - but would benefit from a good strip down.

It has some nice bits of kit on it including Shimano 600 brakes (hoods are cracked), Campag F / Rear derailleurs & shifters, Ofmega cx pedals, SR Sakae cranks, stem, seat post, BB and a nice set of SR Sakae Royal 978 handlebars. Wheels have Ofmega hubs with GP4 rims (spokes are very rusted).

So, how much are we looking at? I would prefer to sell as a whole not broken for parts.

What size is it, looks like 23". Or 58 cm.

Hi Shaun,

Its a 56cm or just under 23" in old money.

There isn't much in the way of rust scabs - but plenty of small scratches!

PS - I could have sworn I'd placed this in the how much thread!!

Nice machine. Looks great and rides even greater. I got two of those. '84 model I believe. Undervalued in my area, if you ask me. Your bike would struggle to make more than € 100 here in its current condition.
