So I needed some P2's for my 1997 Kula build and I managed to get these for £5 BIN :shock: off ebay! They are even tripple butted but in that daft modern black colour, so I set to work on them..

Another great paint job. Did you manage to get that finish with a spray can or something more sophisticated?

Just a spray can, from halfords :roll: ... and loads of care and attention between coats.

Once stripped I applied two coats of primer, flatting off between coats, then about four coats of the gunmetal, again sanding between coats. Finally I very carefully sanded (1200 grit with loads of water) to matt of the top coat and applied laquer. Stickers were applied between coats of laquer.

I would have straight swapped the black ones for an original set in mint condition in the colour/decals you ended up with

But that would take the fun out if surely... respray yours black.. :shock:, I've got another black set coming although I'm not 100% what they are. If they are any good I might still be up for a swap..?
