Project 2 Steel Fork Rust Removal Help

Lighty

Dirt Disciple
Found a set of P2's that were covered in rust spots and rather than bin them wanted to see how bad it was, hence I sanded them back.

The rust is gone but the steel is left as pictured?

Was thinking of finishing the job on lugs etc, sticking some kurust over it as a precaution then some coats of a decent primer. They're not meant for show but more of a save project, just interested in thoughts on state of the steel.

Thanks

get a brass wire wheel on them, clean then etch prime them. follow up with high build primer and wet sand back to get the dips out

Yes. I agree with above....deffo brass wheel to het all the corrosion out of the pits, then if your really worried give them a coat of krust, but rub them right down again before spraying with a etch and high build primer. May need a few coats and a few sands until they flat out.

Then spray as normal.

Best of luck.
