At the risk of being targeted by the trolls again, I would suggest this is not really a huge problem on this site. The majority of people get on with it in a fairly mannered fashion.

Worse things happen in the circus.

I'd agree with that :? except the bit about circuses being unsafe :?

Namby pamby hippy do gooders?Whats wrong with them? What about the hippy Repack riders who actually created our sport?"Real world view?"That sounds like a barrel of laughs, thankfully I would imagine retrobikers by our very nature on our old clunkers shun such a cold and horrid place. You are welcome to it.

So are you arguing that the 'hippy repack riders who created our sport' all bought and sold their bikes and parts for free / at cost? Oh please.

Oddly enough I've just been reading the recent Charlie Kelly book and one of the things I noticed throughout the book is how often he mentions prices of bikes and parts back then as the whole thing evolved.

People buy stuff as cheap as they can and sell it for as much as they can. It's been the same since the dawn of time. It's how the world works.

Re:

Saw a classic recently on Gumtree advertising a 1998 Kona Uhu selling for 170 bucks. Hardly used and advertised with a flat tire and obviously the owner either didn't know much about bikes or just needed to off load it quick smart. Took a couple of weeks to sell and a few days later the very same bike appeared in Ebay but from a different city and for 500 bucks with a flat tire pumped up!!! The extra air made the massive profit difference  Still not sold through......

Hippies generally go into a chrysalis stage in their early 30s in whats known as suspended animation and emerge as fully fledged extreme capitalists. You`d be surprised at the amount of punks that do similar. Here`s Jello

And Johnny Rotten sells butter. Although i reckon that always been his thing :?

I've probably offended all the old punks now

You have no idea how a simple trapeze slippage can cause one's g-string to ride up most uncomfortably!

A friend of mine worked as a Clown, said he had always wanted to work as one, so found his feet immediately.

Which wasn't surprising as they're bright red and absolutely enormous :?
