Problems fitting XTR M952 cranks...

I bought some M952 cranks and a Road Octalink BB from someone on here.

Installed the BB fine, then noticed that the splines on the BB seem bigger than the gaps on the crank arms.

I can't for the life of me understand how these would fit on. I've greased them up etc, but they won't slide on, I'm worried about damaging the crank arms and read it's fairly common as the bb splines are steel.

Can anyone shed any light on this?

I think you could get them to run on the dura-ace or ultegra bb, but the lengths are wrong

XTR was indeed unique - to MTB.

It was the same spline as road octalink though, so a road triple BB may work fine.

The Octalink BB I bought, the splines were wider, no way were they going to fit in the XTR arms unless they were already a bit warped which they didn't look.

Seller said it was a road octalink. Doesn't matter so much now, seller has agreed to refund me.

I'm going to make sure I get a XTR M952 BB this time anyway.
