Devout Dirtbag
i have always lusted after a klein attitude circa 1992 (purple linear fade/ridged oversize fork).my question is,what price would i be looking at to buy one(16" bike/frame fork?)also where would be a good place to look for one apart from e bay(i do not have a credit card!!!).thanks for your time!!!p.s does gary klein still make bikes?

Me too, i'd have a gator fade though, doesn't need to be an Attitude, an Adroit would do fine

I'm not an expert on Kleins but for a frame/fork/bars/stem in very good condition with good headset and BB bearings i'd guess about £600 - £700, maybe more, something rough but sound could be had for £450 - £500. The sky is the limit for mint and NOS examples.

Complete bike ?, up to £1500 depending on spec.

Vintage Adroits are a different league.

BTW Klein did whacky things with the sizing of frames, they are built very small, a 16" would be tiny, an 18" is the equivalent of most other makers 16"s

re pre trek klein

thanks jimihendrix.i had an idea that it wouldn't be cheap(damn it haha!!!)yes an adroit would be awesome as well.i remember a bike show in earls court in 1992-93?where there was a klein stand.they had a fully built up gator fate adroit on a set of scales(i think it was 23lbs)and an attitude chassis (frame, fork, mission control bar/stem in purple fade)i remember picking it up,and it weighed almost nothing.i just remember drooling like homer simpson thinking about beer!!! :D

the difference between the Adroit and the Attitude is the diagonal tube, bigger on the Adroit. On other hand, the tubes of the Adroit are reinforced with boron and carbon fiber. More lightweight than the Attitude. But I think the Attitude more soft… ;)

23lb sounds quite heavy for an Adroit, depends on what kit they had on it though.

I fell in love with the Gator Adriot MBA tested BITD, need to re-mortgage the house or sell some vital body parts to own one now

re pre trek klein attitude

thanks 24pouces.actually jimihendrix, thinking about it,i think it was a special version.it had a lot of special components fitted to it(i think campagnolo, grafton e.t.c!!!)it was very bling/light!!!now if i could just win the lottery!!! :D

re pre trek klein attitude

Caramba Kid wow!!!if i had £500 i would definitely give you a call!!!sorry i should have added, that i am broke at present,(was just wondering what sort of money i needed to save up,for a good example klein.)that is an awesome klein man!!! :D

I think the neapolitan fade Attitude is one bike I'd like to own as well just as I used to lust over them BITD but could never afford one!

Looking back to 1990 they really made bikes that were so different than what was around at the time...still beautiful by todays standards
