My wife is Associate Professor of Geography at Staffordshire University, and she is joint-supervising a Phd examining the impact of Strava and other such tracking devices on cyclists' behaviour.
Any help and contributions to the PhD data collection process would be much appreciated.

The researcher is Adam Caine (keen cyclist / mountain biker) who can be contacted on adam.caine@research.staffs.ac.uk if any further details are required.

Based on a questionnaire, it is fairly short, anonymous, ideal for a tea break.

All the best,

thanks, would love to know how people get these Phd's to do, I would see that and think pointless thing why would anyone fund it.

You'll never make Professor Fluffy with that attitude!

You must have noticed the 'strava effect'?

completed it. It should have had more questions. As it asked how many miles i cycle. In the summer i ride lots. But stop in the winter.

Read about a recent ban of Strava for army people that were revealing the locations of secret military bases through their physical activity :)..
