Pashley Clubman Country

Anyone else seen this bike on their website? I paid a visit there out of curiosity after someone was asking about spare Pashley decals. Looks like a pretty authentic old-school job all round, with a few modern touches such as indexed transmission and a cartridge BB unit;

Not cheap, but then you sort of expect it with Pashley.

Still regret not having bid on the one-off factory prototype selling on eBay a while back; a full-on 853 race frame (though its seller had built it as a single-speed). Wonder what the story behind that one was? Thoughts of dipping a toe into the "contemporary" road market maybe (they certainly managed it well enough off-road with the TV Series trials bikes)?

Yes, I keep seeing it magazines - it really looks like they've pulled something special out of the bag. Not seen one in the flesh yet - but would give my right arm for a test ride. It kust looks superb

Not too bad a price I think - certainly nicer than a Super Galaxy and you would easily pay the same (and possibly then some) from a custom builder...

I saw both versions of it 'in the flesh', so to speak, at the bike show..... If I was in a position to buy another bike, I would have :0)
Absolutely lovely and a hark back to the golden age of cyclo touriste but with modern bits on...... Really like them!

The spec is interesting, does anybody recognise the chainset? which downtube levers and brakes will it use?

Have you seen the special edition version of it that Evans are selling?

Apparently I need to have 5 posts before I can post a URL! So look up touring bikes on Evans website and you'll see it.

They've made a few changes, e.g. bar end shifters. Looks pretty. I entered their competition to win one but they haven't phoned me yet....

A young French framebuilder called Bryce Bénat was working at Pashley until last year, and produced this rather fine stainless (Reynolds 953) travel bike, spotted on the French "véloartisanal" forum:

The Evans version looks positively regal in its green and gold colour scheme.

I think the brakes might be these: http://www.sjscycles.co.uk/dia-compe-75 ... prod18240/ - remember reading somewhere that they were Dia Compe centre pulls.

My eyes are crap, but does that look like Stronglight on the cranks?
