We've had 3 Bay window vans and they were great the 1600cc wasn't so good and ended it's days in the South of France, but the 1800cc and 2 litre were fantastic engines and went without any problems.
This is the second van I have had in 10 years, it's running a recon 1600 engine at the moment, the plans are to get it on the road and then put the bikes on the back and head off to wherever it gets us. It's cost us a few quid to date but it will all be worth it when it's on the road. I have 2 kids ( 3 & 6 ) who are excited about getting it back and heading away on holiday in it. Good family holidays ahead I hope.
lovely VW bus - great effort you have made till now
wished our VW bus would have been that far. Our's a 74 with Westfalia camp.interieur and our kids also love it. Son has forbidden me to sell it
When we parked it in front of our house, during the summer last year, our kids invited step by step all their friend from the neighbourhood to stay one night with them in the bus.
Had it for 6 years now, slowly catching up with the previous owner that had it for the previous 36 years!! Lol
Has a fair few mods to engine, brakes, suspension etc.
My mates bus(blue one in picture) has a 3.0 911SC engine fitted and accelerates like a scalded cat
