Orange Shim Woes..... P7 hints/tips?

Despite repeated soaking for days and days with Gt85 and WD40 and applying lots of heat Im still struggling to get the shim out of my 95 P7..... any tips from you guys? Can’t pinch the top to squeeze it a bit either. Im hoping it’s not going to be the dreaded hacksaw blade scenario for hours 😩
Appears to have the typical corrosion between the shim and seat tube only allowing the seat post to go in 80mm at a real push heavily lubed and don’t want to cut or trim the seatpost tbh.....
Cheers in advance 👍🍊🍊

The problem is that the corrosion is between shim and seat tube, so filing will remove shim not corrosion.
Try Plus-Gas not WD40. It truly reaches the parts others don't reach. It may take a couple of weeks, also repeated heat cycling - plumber's freezer spray then boiling water can heat shock the bond apart.

get a file/rasp down there are remove the corrosion at the end?
From what I can see with a torch the shim looks fine and doesn’t need filing but there’s likely corrosion between it and the frame causing the shim to close/cinch in a bit forming a tight spot that the seatpost won’t go past......🤔

I was/am assuming it's the end of the shim that cannot be pushed past, how long are the P7 shims ? 8cm seems quite far in for a shim, hence assuming it was the end.

Cheers, yes plus gas was going to be an option but have had good success with heat wd and Gt85. Have also tried the heat:freeze approach and still struggling.... perseverance I guess but I’ve another frame to get the shim out of too....😩

Shim goes in approx 75/80mm and appears to be the original.... hopefully it’ll come out at some point but will try and replace ways USE one and they are longer and not ally

doubt anyone would have changed the shim, since they are part of the frame.

Get a 27.2 cut off post and a big lump hammer and get it in there ;-)
drill some holes in the top and a bar to pull or hammer that damn post back out again.
🤣

May well have to take that level of action.....😤 trying to find a sacrificial spare 26.4 post will be fun 😂😂
