Dirt Disciple
Going to go up for sale now though as I defo need a 19ā€ frame, thought I could get away with the 17ā€ but sadly I canā€™t šŸ˜

Spec of the build:

ā€¢Orange p7 nickel frame 1994 (stripped and polished up & sealed with Synergy 2yr ceramic coating)

ā€¢Marzocchi XC700 fully working adjustable air forks

ā€¢Shimano XT shark fin (brand new)

ā€¢USE seat post (uncut at 420mm)

ā€¢Brand new USE seatpost shim

ā€¢Profile 1ā€ threaded stem

ā€¢Ritchey 1ā€ headset

ā€¢RaceFace Atlas bars

ā€¢Magura HS33 red edition brakes

ā€¢Stainless hydraulic hose inserts (so no zip ties holding rear brake cable to the frame)

ā€¢Mavic Cross Ride gen 1 wheels

ā€¢DMR V12 pedals

ā€¢Full Shimano Deore XT 750 group set including new cassette

ā€¢Panaracer fire xc pro 2ā€™s (slight cracking)

All parts have been stripped and cleaned, everything works perfectly! I did this bike to keep hence all the time and effort Iā€™ve put into it but itā€™s just a tad too small, Iā€™m absolutely gutted & havenā€™t ridden it since the build.

Hopefully the pics do it justice! As mentioned on some of the forums, itā€™s probably worth a lot more stripped and sold for parts but Iā€™d rather someone got the use out of it! Frame is in excellent condition with only some very minor tarnish marks around the bottle cage mounts. No rust anywhere though!.

Currently un ridden since rebuilding yesterday šŸš²

Ā£425 ono?

Offers if Iā€™m way off?? I know how much the forks/ wheels/ seatpost/ brakes and XT full groupset are worth alone so please bare in mind if making an offer šŸ˜Š

Any other pics can be posted on request, everything had a strip down and clean whilst I went at the frame and everything nice and tight and as new

It has certainly tidied up well from when it was advertised in August. That is very very clean. Also a very unusual and distinctive spec.

Quite the markup. Good luck with the sale.
Thank you. As I wanted to keep it, itā€™s had many many hours of my time invested into it.

Also the purchase price shouldnā€™t really reflect the selling price as individually Iā€™ve looked into how much the parts go for.

Forks - Ā£100
Brakes - Ā£100
Wheels - Ā£100+
Full XT groupset - Ā£100+
USE seatpost - Ā£40
Bars & Stem - Ā£40
Headset -Ā£20
Frame - Ā£100? (+)
New stock shark fin - Ā£30
Grips - Ā£12
Decals (& spare set) - Ā£75
Wheel decals - Ā£12

Iā€™ve spent Ā£55 on decals, Ā£40 on the polishing/ prepping equipment, stripped each part individually to clean and polish up, recabled the bike and also got the brakes working again after a full strip down.

Not to mention the hours of labour doing all the above too, the frame was tatty up close to say the least when I got it, someone had tried to respray certain areas of the frame so spent 2 evenings just trying to get rid of that šŸ˜ž

I also put offers, Iā€™ve looked at whatā€™s on eBay and thereā€™s some at Ā£700+ not at this level, priced at what it is but will listen to any offers, had 2 offers on eBay so far and not even 24hrs but I declined them as it was only an hour into the auction, Iā€™d listen at offers around Ā£400

When Iā€™ve done the pricing bit, some are what the parts are worth selling on their own, other parts are what Iā€™ve put into it which is approx Ā£190 since buying it, so that plus what I paid for the bike it owes me Ā£400+ šŸ˜

As I said, I did it to keep but itā€™s just too small, defo need 19ā€

Then strip it, sell the frame, buy the bigger one, and reassemble. That would be your best bet, especially if you like it that much.

...out of interest, what were the ebay offers you declined?

I was going to, however I bought the bike to go to centerparcs in 2 weeks so itā€™s easier to sell as a whole, the brakes wonā€™t fit a larger frame, the forks wonā€™t either and most are A-Headset too so itā€™s far easier just to sell as a whole and buy as a whole.

I was offered Ā£300 and I keep the brakes, was a good offer to be fair and if I got Ā£100 for the brakes happy days, unfortunately the hoses are too short and I spent ages getting them mint on the bike so donā€™t want to split.
