Just got a bit of flattening off on the frame with microfine sanding pad and then some polishing compounds, before applying the decals.
The forks have had that treatment already. I used them as the guinea pig, seeing as I've never done this before and they would be easier to rectify if I made any cock-ups. But so far so good.
I'm now wondering if I ought to put a few coats of lacquer over the decals, or leave as is. The original factory decals didn't have a coat of lacquer on them. I've never used Gil's decals before so don't know if they would need a coat. Would love to know what other people have done.
In the meantime, I'm searching for an Orange Stalk 1" quill stem, or failing that recommendations on something that looks the same.
