Orange Clockwork resto

Re:

Can’t see the photos you posted on the 26th?

Good call on the temporary spray booth, I didn’t bother recently and everything in the shed is covered in a light dusting of fluorescent pink  (it’s not stuck though, just needs dusting off).

Re:

Ahh yes, the dreaded overspray. I only constructed the CSI murder scene tent after the first coat of primer. Did a lot of dusting and swearing.

I'm using google photos for the image uploads. The new photos are in the same album as all the others, so they ought to be visible. I'll check the settings.

How's that now?

Which place did you get the paint from? I just got hold of a 95 C-16R and want to go full orange on it.

Re:

Hi Malt, I got the paint from St Ouens Motorworks http://stouensmotorworks.co.uk/ It's just before the Farmers Inn on the left-hand side on the way to St Ouens Village from St Peters. Only £6.95 for a 500ml can, best price for the quantity. I used two and bit cans for the forks and frame. They also sell 4 different grades of sanding sponge pads, only 50p each. You'll need some, much better than sand paper on a curved surface. I used the yellow one for flattening off the base coat before applying the lacquer. If you want to see what the colour is actually like before buying, you're more than welcome to pop round and have a look.

Best price for lacquer is at Ernie Le Feuvre's, (Rue de Bechet, Sion), only £3.99 for a 500ml can of Tetrosyl (£5.35 at Corey Car Paints) https://eclefeuvre.jd-dealer.co.uk/

Cheers,
fred

This is a great thread but it’s suddenly turned into an episode of Heartbeat or Last of the summer wine

Re:

I presume you had the mask and the hazmat suit just laying around in your meths lab. :p
