Orange Clockwork resto

Re:

The orange on the early bikes changed quiet a lot from neon, to much redder then to carrot orange for the 92/93 era so you have a pretty broad range.

Re:

If you want a close up of my mint 92 let me know. You'll have to remind me though as it's at work. If you search the site I think there's some pics up too.

brocklanders023, stop showing off! You're such a tease!
Oh, go on then, let's have a look at what mine should, hopefully will, look like.
It ought to inspire me, and act as reference.

That's really nice brock, hope mine turns out as nice.

Would you know if Orange did a Clockwork in 1989 that was solid orange (no white fade on the top and down tubes)? I only ask because when I bought my Muddy Fox Seeker in 1989, there was an Orange Clockwork in the window of the shop (Boudins) next to the Muddy Fox, and I spent ages with my mate trying to make my mind up as to which one to buy. I was going to get the Orange, but my mate pointed out that the rear brakes where on the chain stay and would clog up with mud and leaves, and so I ended up buying the Muddy Fox. I'm sure that the Orange Clockwork that was in the window was solid orange. I remember saying "Wow, look it it, it's bright orange and it's called Orange! Awesome!" But there again, it was 30 years ago, and I was smoking a lot of weed back then.

Re:

They did do solid orange in 1989 but not sure they ever had chainstay brakes? One was on here a few months back as Orange sold a NOS one and a member bought it.

My late '93 Clockwork is solid orange, very nice paint job it is too.. Never seen a Clockwork with chainstay brakes though. My '88 Raleigh Mirage has them, a bit more work keeping them clean, but they work very well, and give great clearance for a rack and panniers..

brocklanders023: I need to see some pictures of that bike! It'll be proof that I'm not cracking up! I might restore this Clockwork of mine to match what I nearly bought back in 1989.
