Went on my first ride of the year today, and have been eyeing up a retro bike for a while now. On the ride home I noticed a orange clockwork locked up, however front wheel was not present and chain was rusty. What a shame I was thinking,
I want to find out who owns the bike, if it's been abandoned or if the wheel just gets taken off for security.
Has anyone ever gone down this route before and what method did you use for finding the owner? Just leave a note on the handlebars? and what if I do leave a note and it's still there months later.. Are there any laws saying I can acquire it? (save it)
And even if it isn't abandoned. I'm guessing at the state of the bike that they don't know it's value. So I would try and buy it from them
