Hi all. for sale is my Orange Aluminium O in the rare original orange/white fade. Most of the these had issues with the paint so were resprayed but this one has survived in decent but used condition. I bought it last year from a gent who'd had it since the early 90's having bought it from a racer friend. It was obviously a high spec bike bitd. He said he's not used it much so I assume it had a couple of years being raced before he got it as it certainly shows signs of wear but it's ripe for a gentle restoration.
It has a 19 inch frame c to t and mainly XT kit although the crank is Deore and I'll have to check the canti's. Levers are SS5's, fork Rockshox RS1, and wheels XT on Mavic M231CD. It came with the Flexstem but I can swap it for the pictured Orange Stalk if preferred. The pedals are Suntour and quite desirable from what I understand?
I have done pretty much nothing with it since I got it so it will benefit from a once over. I have not checked the forks, the rear hub is grumbly and I think the middle chain ring could do with replacing. Over all though it's a nice example of a rare bike which could be made lovely with a bit of attention. I'd planned to service the bike, fit amber walls and the Stalk, get some RS1 decals and have a general tidy but having bought another Clockwork and agreed to buy a Team Marin project I just don't have the space or the tie to do this justice so offer it out to you lot.
I'd prefer not to split atm as the last owner was very proud of it and happy it was going to an enthusiast but if it doesn't sell I may consider in the future. Only looking for what I paid which was £300. Happy to post at cost if I can find a box but collection from Skipton, North Yorkshire preferred. I'm also happy to deliver it within reason. any questions, get in touch.
