Old school Klein help

Afternoon all

I picked up a pinnacle frame a while back but am only just getting round to building it. I'm not going for a as original build but more for what I could find from the era.

I have a couple of points I need help on:

Originally I thought that someone had put a quill to a-head adapter on it, so I was looking into a 1-1 1/8 shim along with a stem, but it appears that what I thought was an adapter might actually be an "MC 2 extender".... Now, I don't have an MC 2 so could the adapter than I see be used to stick an a-head stem on or do I need to remove it and then find a quill stem?

Also, it seems that there "should" be cable stops in the frame to do the internal cable routing. I do still have the cable routers in the frame but nothing to "sit" the cable outers in. Do I need the cable stops or can I do without?

Cheers all
Adam

Re:

With Klein's and canti brakes, you dont need stops in the same way you do for v brakes.

Your rear brake will need an outer cable from the lever to the internal routing hole at the front only. The internal sheath should run through the frame and out to the canti guide at the back. Difficult to explain in words but there will be plenty of pics to demonstrate this.

Heres an example on here: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=2407

Same applies to gear cables.

Keep the inner sheath as long as possible to protect bare cable rubbing or cutting into the frame.

Good grief, it looks new

It had a respray just before I picked it up... But I do need to touch up a couple of gouges on the rear triangle.

It should be a lovely bike once done.... I've got a full STX RC groupset apart from an xt front mech. Should be perfect for the Mrs.
