Salvage Tech turned up out of the blue with a set of scales on a bike stand (good idea :D )

Took the oportunity and weighed them all and I have to say, I wish I hadn't.

Imagination was better than reality.

Conclusion, XLM needs to go on a carbon diet. 22.2lbs! That's unnaceptable. He's got fat! I've had words and he's going to play ball.

Quite chuffed the cx bike came in at 23lbs. Thought it was worse. ;)

Weighing bikes is always a schoolboy error. You're better with your imagination....

Yup, BITD I really got my fingers burnt!

My old DB Apex (94/95 ish), full LX and Pro-Circuit forks. My imagination said 23/24 lbs.......the scales read 28 lbs.

I cried for weeks

hey, it doesn't matter.....most of mine are between 23-25lbs, so no featherweights and a couple of the frames would be worthy of a diet IMHO but then I'd get all nervous about breaking stuff...where's the fun in that?

edit: actually what really stops me is, the money I could spend on making one of them really light and bling can also be spent on another bike.........and that's the route I always seem to go down.....

Always got the age old theory and cheaper option of dieting??

i fondly imagine my lava dome in the low 20's

off stock it was 25.9lb and i have kevlar 1.9's and crossmax so i reckon i'm not too far off
