Not vintage or French Tourers/Campeurs, Trade/Porteurs, Audax/Randonneurs, Commuters/Town

Very clean, would like to see at least a front brake though.
I totally agree, what I liked the most was how subtle everything is. In regards to the practicality of the bike... well I don't know. I get the impression from comments that he rides it and has given thought to stuff like gear ratio, so it's not just a photo op. A front brake would definitely be safer.

Some stunning bikes on here.

I always seem to be drawn to the lower end of the market with these tbh, as one, someone else may decide they need it more than I do and would like to relieve me of it. And two, I'd need to have a bike like the really nice ones that can accommodate a good quality centre stand as I'd always be concerned about damaging the paint.

Loving some of the bikes on this thread, particularly the Taylors. I am always looking for fillet brazed one in my size.
Here’s one of my lockdown projects I guess it fits here. The idea was to use as many of my favourite parts as possible. Royce, Nitto, Suntour, TA, Mafac etc. It’s currently sporting a matching front rack as well. Excuse poor pictures and a misbehaving chain.

That's really nice 👍 Surprised to see vertical drop-outs; did you have the frame modified?

The paint is a very practical point, lean, scratch and curse. I worry about leaving my bikes in town. I have specific (Read ratty) bikes for the purpose. Like my 1994 708 Raleigh Randonneur I painted in hammerite  or the unknown Raleigh, finally my Carrera crosser. P1030498.JPG P1020460.JPG

I always feel relieved after getting the first rub marks and paint scratches as it stops me worrying further. From there on in I don't give a shit. Same logic applies to anything else I buy, first scratch on a new phone and I couldn't care less anymore.
