Hey folks,

Getting round to tidying up one of my projects, a 99 Kona Stab Dee Lux. Picked it up off ebay a few years back and it's been collecting dust for a while. It came with Avid Code 5s and for some reason a previous owner had painted the spider arms red...pretty badly. Guessing it's acrylic but can't be sure.

Has anyone got any non-corrosive home remedies to clean them up? Preferably that can be done in situ as some of the mounting bolts have also been rounded...great stuff.

Any tips appreciated

Isnt acrylic water based? So shoukd rub off with a damp cloth.

If not then dampen cloth with a zolvent such ad white spirit, paraffin or petrol, with all of them do it outside.

If the crank is anidisex no need tk worry about getting the surface off , same if irinally paint but a but more care, original painf is pretty resilient, same witbpowdef ciated,

Are you sure they're not the old red powder coated iirc raceface turbine lp cranks?

If so yes the paint job on them were god aweful from factory, talk about flaking, yeesh.

Get some acetone out and get creative to bring out the RAW!
