Nos hope to BB axle question

I've got this nos hope to BB, but I noticed that the axle is not even in the way it protrudes out from the BB cups.

As it's nos I darent do anything other than look at it, kidding, but I don't want to do it any harm.

I don't think it is supposed to be like this, are the BB cups removable at both ends? I don't want to force anything but I'm assuming both cups come off as bearings are replaceable right?

From memory the cups are removable, but a tight fit - leaving a sleeve and a centre piece.

If that’s the paperwork in the pic behind then there’s a good chance it has an exploded diagram as their headset paperwork did

Indeed yeah
Push fit cups on cartridge bearings.
It canbe hard to snug them down off the bike.

Square taper axles often aren't symmetrical though, the introduction of the triple chainset often caused a longer projection on the drive side.
If you measure flange to flange, you ought to get 68 (73? - I can't remember if hope did both bb widths or just spaced out like most manufacturers - im sure the information will be out there)

asymetical axles are normal.

The logo is usually centred once the cups are in - as a guide
