Hola. Newbie. Whilst I don’t own anything older than 2007/8 ish (853 ss inbred) and a 2013 cannondale rz, I do prefer older/more traditional bikes. Am I an old grumpy git? Yes.

@dyna-ti it was good fish n chips. Yes there’s Hope bits dotted around most bikes, along with Royce, Middleburn. Not in a jingoistic way just I like the good quality and ease of maintenance rather than disposable stuff.

Whisky Winston. I have tried a few bars on it: started with on one midges and ended up with the moustache-ish Winston’s for a good position for longer days.

The Raleigh was and is a bit of fun. It’s a tank of a frame and fork but it’s dependable. I had quite a few nice bits in the shed; XTR, Dura-Ace and titanium odds and ends so I built it back up with them.
