Nice problem to have... (Poll!!)

I'm 40 in November (that's not the nice problem) and my Mrs has rubber stamped the purchase of some retro frame shininess as a present.

Now is a good time to buy as March is Bonus month... (and no I'm not a fat cat Banker!). This means I'm looking to strike whilst the iron is hot, in case the car blows up or the boiler goes into meltdown and the funds end up getting them fixed!

Anyway, I have always fancied a Pace RC100 or RC200. Given the scarcity of the former, it would probably be the latter...

My head has been turned by a Merlin Ti frame though... again always wanted one BITD.

Given the choice and I appreciate there is a difference in price... which way would you jump..

Neither... I'd go for a Kona Star n Bars Hot, or KK Hei Hei...
But out of the two, I'd go with a ti Merlin

My own material prejudices would colour my judgement based on the answer.

Garage queen go for the Pace. Yumm.

Rider go for the Merlin.

As you say though, nice choice to have.

To be honest a bit of both, those who know me will agree that I spend more time in the Garage than riding, but I am seriously trying to shift this more towards riding!

Also, I'm very lucky in having a few to choose from...

Having ridden a Pace recently (Dave's last weekend!) I was blown away by the speed of it, very impressive. But having fondled a Merlin in the flesh there just isn't anything that compares (if there is I don't want to hear about it), the quality is just sublime, they are utterly utterly stunning. Been my dream bike since I starting drawing them instead of paying attention in school...

Do you already have anything ti or ally?
