Nice Barn-find Marin

Mind you, low-end back then is most definitely high end today. That's lovely tight welding on those tubes. The cute little gear indicators are just a bonus.

No that is exactly the muirwoods color sceme. And all the parts fit the catalogue spec.

The muirwoods had better shifters, the gimmick indicators were used on a lower groupset and the blue was more frosted than that gloss, the matt frosted finish was used throughout the range, we had both muirwoods and bobcat trail side by side in the shop last month and could see the differences then.

I like the gloss blue more though.... maybe euro?

Given it's a promotional giveaway, I guess it's entirely possible it was specced with non-catalogue colours to be on-brand for the competition promotor (who I'd guess to be Reebok).

Couldn't say if it had any additional value - bikes of this age and spec can be sadly found in skips. But perhaps to a collector of Reebok memorabilia (especially if came with any competition details) it might bump the price up. Personally, I'd be doubtful - but it's a nice example and those old marins are nice to ride (especially with shorter stems and riser bars for older backs).
